GREAT Tech Awards 2015



The third annual GREAT Tech Awards encourages high-growth technology companies in the Northeast USA to select the UK as destination of choice for international expansion.

Six innovative companies, selected by a panel of prestigious judges and advisors, will win a roundtrip flight to London courtesy of British Airways; five nights' accommodation courtesy of Corinthia Hotel London; and valuable professional services from lawyers Fieldfisher, accountants BDO, recruitment agents Propel Executive, and real estate advisors Knight Frank. In addition, there will be high-level meetings with mentors and government officials, attendance at the unBound Digital conference in London, and business development services provided by sector specialists.

Competition categories are:

CleanTech - e.g. Renewable technologies, smart grid and cities, energy efficiency, transportation technologies, biofuels, energy storage, built environment, waste management, water and waste water, air quality and advanced materials.
EdTech - e.g. multimedia learning, m-learning, digital education collaboration, technology/computer-based learning
FinTech - e.g. big data, financial platforms, mobile banking, crowdfunding
Health - e.g. medical devices, diagnostics, e-health, m-health, biotech
Lifestyle - e.g. retail, fashion, e-commerce, travel, food, social discovery, nonprofits, social good
Media - e.g. big data, digital media, technologies for video and game consoles, arts, TV content, music software, ad-tech, enterprise, publishing/content

Best of USA:

The Best of USA prize will be awarded to a US company from the Northeast USA established in the UK for less than 18 months. The winner will receive a return British Airways Premium Economy flight to the UK; five nights at Corinthia Hotel London; valuable professional services from lawyers, Fieldfisher; accountants BDO; and businesses development services from sector specialists.

The Best of British:

The Best of British prize will be awarded to a UK company established in the US using disruptive technology in their sector. The Prize will include an event in the US, professional services from lawyers and accountants, and business development services from sector specialists.

Applications close on 31 July 2015. Finalists will be announced in September and winners will be presented at a gala and ceremony on 29 October 2015.
